Ahsoka director Bryce Dallas Howard recently shed light on the return of a beloved character and intriguing aspects of the show. Focusing on Rosario Dawson’s portrayal of Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian, she discussed how Dawson brought her own energy and flair to the character.
In an unpublished portion of an interview, Howard spoke about how thrilling it was to have the surprise return of Michael Biehn’s character, Kyle Reese, in Episode 4 of Ahsoka. Expressing her excitement, she said, “What an honor and a privilege to have him back.”
Furthermore, Howard addressed the enigmatic character Marrok, who was mentioned but not seen in The Mandalorian’s episode “The Siege.” She confirmed that Marrok was indeed a reference to her father, Ron Howard. The name appears to be an in-joke between her and Jon Favreau, the executive producer of The Mandalorian, as Ron Howard directed the film “Willow” for Lucasfilm, and Marrok was the name of the High Aldwin’s dog in the movie.
The director expressed her delight in working on the show and said she was grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the Star Wars universe. She also added that she is eager to continue exploring the series and its characters in future episodes.
