Amazon cancels The Peripheral, reversing its decision to renew for Season 2 Release Date

  • Amazon cancels ‘The Peripheral’ after previously renewing it for a second season
  • The streaming service defines it as a “limited series” rather than a full drama series
  • The series is executive produced by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, creators of ‘Westworld’

In a rare move, Amazon has decided to cancel the sci-fi series ‘The Peripheral’ after previously announcing its renewal for a second season. The show will now be labeled as a “limited series” instead of a full-fledged drama series on the streaming platform.

The futuristic show, based on the novel by William Gibson, is executive produced by the creators of ‘Westworld’, Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. The story follows a young woman named Flynne Fisher who discovers a dark conspiracy while beta testing a mysterious new game. This cancellation comes as an unusual step by Amazon, which is known for renewing its original series.
