NBC has officially renewed American Ninja Warrior for an 18th season, the network announced Tuesday.
The obstacle course competition will return in 2025 with its signature format intact. Contestants will face the challenging four-stage course in Las Vegas after advancing through qualifying and semifinal rounds.
Matt Iseman and Akbar Gbajabiamila will return as hosts for the upcoming season.
The show continues to draw solid ratings for NBC during summer programming. Season 17 averaged 3.2 million viewers across all platforms, making it one of the network’s most-watched unscripted series.
“American Ninja Warrior has become a staple of our summer lineup,” said NBC Entertainment in a statement. “The athletes continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible on the course.”
Casting for Season 18 is expected to begin in early 2025. The show typically films qualifying rounds in multiple cities before culminating with the National Finals in Las Vegas.
The renewal comes as the series has maintained consistent viewership despite increased competition in the reality TV space.
Production details and premiere dates for Season 18 will be announced at a later date.
The show has launched several spin-offs over its run, including American Ninja Warrior Junior and international versions of the format. The original format remains NBC’s primary focus for the franchise.
