Barbie Casting Director reveals why SNL’s Bowen Yang wasn’t suitable for Ken role Release Date

– Bowen Yang was passed over for a role in a “Barbie” film.
– Casting director did not find any suitable roles for Yang.
– Barbie Film to be directed by Greta Gerwig.

In a recent interview, the mastermind behind the casting of the upcoming Barbie film discussed why Bowen Yang, an SNL cast member, didn’t secure a part as a “Ken” character. Simply put, the casting director felt that there wasn’t an appropriate role for him in the film.

To further elaborate on the decision, the casting director shared that they didn’t believe any of the available roles well-suited for Yang’s specific talents. The general consensus surrounding casting for the film appears to have been to find the right balance of personalities and talents. As a result, Yang was not chosen for a part in the movie.

The highly-anticipated film will be directed by Greta Gerwig and has already attracted attention for its cast of talented performers, with Margot Robbie in the titular role of Barbie. While fans of Bowen Yang may be disappointed at his exclusion from the film, they can look forward to future projects that will better showcase his unique comedic abilities.
