Camp Rock 3 Now In Production for Disney Channel – See Who’s Returning With the Jonas Brothers Release Date

The Jonas Brothers are heading back to Camp Rock for a third installment, with Disney Channel confirming production has officially begun on the long-awaited sequel.

Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas will reprise their roles in the musical franchise that helped launch their careers over a decade ago. The announcement comes as Disney Channel expands its catalog of nostalgic content for both original fans and new audiences.

Production started last month at Disney’s studios in Vancouver.

The original Camp Rock premiered in 2008 and became one of Disney Channel’s most-watched original movies. It starred Demi Lovato alongside the Jonas Brothers and spawned a 2010 sequel, Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam.

Disney Channel hasn’t confirmed whether Lovato will return for the third film. Her character Mitchie Torres was central to both previous movies.

“We’re excited to bring Camp Rock back to life for a new generation while honoring what made the original so special,”

said Disney Channel’s executive vice president of original programming.

The franchise centered around a summer music camp where aspiring young musicians develop their talents. Both previous films featured original songs that became hits on the Disney music charts.

Camp Rock generated over $8.9 million in soundtrack sales worldwide. The sequel drew 7.9 million viewers during its premiere weekend.

What We Know About the Plot

Disney Channel is keeping plot details under wraps. Sources close to production suggest the story will focus on the camp’s evolution and how former campers return as counselors.

The Jonas Brothers will serve as both stars and executive producers. They’re also expected to contribute original music to the soundtrack.

Filming is scheduled to wrap by spring 2024. Disney Channel hasn’t announced a premiere date but industry insiders expect the movie to debut in late 2024 or early 2025.

The network has been revisiting several of its popular franchises in recent years. High School Musical: The Musical: The Series proved that audiences remain hungry for updated versions of beloved Disney properties.

Camp Rock 3 represents Disney Channel’s continued investment in music-driven content that can span multiple platforms and generate soundtrack revenue.
