– Christian LeBlanc reveals cancer diagnosis
– Confirms he is in remission
– Plans to return to “The Young and the Restless” in August
Christian LeBlanc, who stars as Michael Baldwin on the popular soap opera “The Young and the Restless,” has shared the news of his cancer diagnosis. LeBlanc opened up about his health struggles with his fans on Instagram, assuring them that his condition is currently in remission.
LeBlanc posted a photo of himself in a hospital gown, with the caption, “Another day at the office.” He then revealed his diagnosis of basosquamous carcinoma, a rare form of skin cancer, and explained how it was initially misdiagnosed as rosacea. LeBlanc discovered the truth after “a wider and deeper punch biopsy” was performed.
The actor was grateful that his doctor caught the cancer early, stating, “My wonderful doctor … who insisted on my getting further evaluation, it was caught just in the nick of time and is now GONE!” He also thanked some of his fellow co-stars for their support during this difficult time: “Thanks to my dear friends … for their support and love.”
LeBlanc is looking forward to returning to work soon, declaring that he will be back on the set of “The Young and the Restless” in August. He encouraged everyone to be diligent about their health and skin protection, particularly during the summer months.
In light of his experience, LeBlanc shared a vital message with his fans: “CHECK YOURSELF! I am so grateful for the diligence and care taken by my doctor and the top-notch Mohs procedure done at Kaiser Permanente here in LA at Sunset Blvd. A simple punch biopsy can save your life! The earlier these things are caught, the better the prognosis.” His words serve as a reminder to all to not take their health for granted.
