Dawson’s Creek Cast Reunites for Live Pilot Reading to Benefit Cancer Charity & James Van Der Beek Release Date

The Dawson’s Creek cast is coming together for a special live event to support cancer research and their former co-star James Van Der Beek.

The reunion will feature a live reading of the show’s original pilot script. Cast members are participating to raise funds for F Cancer, a nonprofit organization focused on cancer awareness and research.

Van Der Beek recently announced his colorectal cancer diagnosis publicly in October. The 47-year-old actor shared the news on social media, explaining he’s been privately dealing with the diagnosis.

The live reading brings together original cast members from the beloved teen drama that ran from 1998 to 2003.

Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson, and Michelle Williams are expected to participate alongside Van Der Beek. The event marks the first time the core cast has reunited for a public appearance in years.

F Cancer focuses on early detection and prevention programs. The organization works to make cancer screening more accessible, particularly for younger adults who might not consider themselves at risk.

Van Der Beek played the title character Dawson Leery throughout the show’s six-season run. The series launched on The WB and became a cultural phenomenon, helping establish careers for its young cast.

The actor has continued working steadily since Dawson’s Creek ended, appearing in shows like Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 and Dancing with the Stars.

Colorectal cancer affects approximately 153,000 Americans annually. Cases among younger adults have been increasing over the past two decades, making early screening more important.

The live pilot reading will take place as a streaming event. Fans can purchase tickets to watch the reunion performance online.

Proceeds from ticket sales go directly to F Cancer’s research and awareness programs. The organization specifically supports initiatives that help people understand their cancer risk factors.

Details about the exact date and streaming platform will be announced soon.

This reunion represents more than nostalgia for 90s television. It’s become a way for the cast to support their friend while raising awareness about a serious health issue affecting younger people.

The original Dawson’s Creek pilot introduced viewers to the fictional town of Capeside, Massachusetts. Creator Kevin Williamson wrote the script that launched what became a defining show for an entire generation.
