Get ready to whip out the spatulas, because Krapopolis is finally making its way to your screens. Fox revealed on Monday that the highly anticipated animated comedy, created by Dan Harmon, the mastermind behind Community and Rick and Morty, is set to kick off with a two-episode launch on Sunday, September 24. The show will air right after Fox’s NFL doubleheader, before settling into its regular time slot of Sundays at 8:30 pm starting October 1. That night will also usher in fresh episodes of The Simpsons, Bob’s Burger’s, and Family Guy.
While the writers’ strike has had a significant impact on the TV industry, Fox has not yet released its fall schedule, apart from its lineup of animated shows which are less affected by the strike.
Krapopolis is set in a mythical version of ancient Greece, where a chaotic family composed of humans, gods, and monsters attempt to govern one of the world’s earliest cities without killing each other in the process. The show boasts an impressive voice cast, including Hannah Waddingham of Ted Lasso fame, Matt Berry from What We Do in the Shadows, and Richard Ayoade of The IT Crowd. Dan Harmon serves as executive producer alongside showrunner Jordan Young, who previously worked on BoJack Horseman. Fox has already confirmed a second season for the series.
