After spending a year and a half as part of The Five on Fox News, correspondent Geraldo Rivera is leaving the show. He announced his departure himself on Twitter on Wednesday, saying, “I’m off @TheFive. My last scheduled show appearances are Thursday and Friday, June 29th and 30th. It’s been a great run and I appreciate having had the opportunity. Being odd man out isn’t always easy.”
The Five is a one-hour panel talk show on Fox News, featuring full-time hosts Greg Gutfeld, Dana Perino, Jesse Watters, Jeanine Pirro, and rotating hosts Harold Ford Jr. and Jessica Tarlov. They discuss current events, political issues, and pop culture. The format of the show has been used as a foundation for other programs on the network, such as Gutfeld, Outnumbered, and The Big Weekend Show. Rivera officially joined the show in January last year, alongside Tarlov, Ford, and Pirro.
Since 2001, Rivera has been with Fox News, starting as a war correspondent after working at CNBC. According to his latest contract signed in 2021, he will remain as the host of Cops: All Access, streaming on Fox Nation, and continue to serve as a Correspondent at Large for the network. Additionally, he has hosted the syndicated talk show Geraldo from 1987 to 1998 and Fox News’ Geraldo at Large from 2005 to 2007.
