- The strike commenced due to excessive strain on voice actors and decreasing fees
Several stars from the popular television series Grimm reunited to join the SAG-AFTRA picket line, expressing their solidarity with striking video game voice actors. Grimm cast members Bree Turner, Claire Coffee, Jacqueline Toboni, and Silas Weir Mitchell attended the rally in support of their fellow actors demanding better working conditions and compensation within the gaming industry.
SAG-AFTRA officially launched the strike on October 21st, with the goal to reach a negotiation with the industry to reduce the excessive vocal stress on voice actors participating in long recording sessions. Additionally, the union aims to negotiate better payment terms, as the current fees are being seen as decreasing with the development of higher earning platforms. The strike has impacted companies such as Electronic Arts, Activision, and Insomniac.
