HBO’s chief, Casey Bloys, has admitted to using dummy Twitter accounts for trolling critics of the network’s shows and programming decisions. In an interview, he referred to the move as a “very, very dumb idea.”

Bloys confessed to using aliases on Twitter to defend the channel’s content and strategies against detractors. This comes after a recent report shed light on the existence of these fake accounts. Addressing the situation, Bloys acknowledged his lapse in judgment, saying, “It was a very, very dumb idea. It was a momentary lapse in judgment in an attempt to be protective of the work that we do and the decisions that we make.”
