– Showrunner of “How I Met Your Father” comments on the show’s cancellation
– Hilary Duff-led sitcom failed to get a series order from Hulu
– Series creator calls the TV business “crazy” and unpredictable
The creator and showrunner of the now-canceled TV show “How I Met Your Father” has described the television industry as a “crazy business” following the news that the Hilary Duff-led sitcom has been shelved. Although the series was highly anticipated, it failed to secure a series order from Hulu.
Isaac Aptaker, who co-created and executive produced the spinoff of the successful “How I Met Your Mother,” took to Twitter to express his thoughts about the decision to cancel the show. He tweeted, “Sometimes, in the crazy world of TV, shows you love dearly don’t get series orders and sadly that’s what happened today with ‘How I Met Your Father’.” Aptaker went on to thank everyone who had worked on the show and expressed his pride in the “amazing team” involved.
The show had faced challenges during its development, beginning with an originally planned title, “How I Met Your Dad,” which was later changed to “How I Met Your Father.” The main cast, including Duff, had already been announced and promotional materials had been shared before the unfortunate news of its cancellation. Despite these setbacks, Aptaker remains positive, stating that he believes “something great” will come out of the show’s concept eventually.
