The young starlet Iman Vellani recently discussed her surprise scene with a Marvel character in Disney+’s newest series, Ms. Marvel. Vellani, who plays the titular character Kamala Khan, was excited to work with Sophia Di Martino, who portrays Loki’s Sylvie on the hit show.
In an interview, Vellani shared how working with the Loki star felt like a dream. “I kept pinching myself every time,” she said. “It was a surreal experience knowing that I get to live my dream while working with such talented people. It’s insane.” Vellani also expressed her gratitude for the opportunity, as well as for the support she has received from fans and her fellow cast members.
As for the surprise Marvel scene, Vellani was elated to work with Di Martino. “It was really cool to have Sylvie, Sophia Di Martino, in one of our closing episodes,” Vellani revealed. “It was such a brilliant experience, and I’m so grateful for it.”
When discussing her hopes for a second season of Ms. Marvel, Vellani remained optimistic. “I would love to see more of Kamala’s relationship with her family, her powers, and how she navigates her way through high school,” she shared. “I think it’s really important to show the different aspects of her life, and I would be excited to explore more of those angles.”
Ms. Marvel, which is set to premiere on Disney+ in summer 2022, will follow Kamala Khan as she discovers her powers and becomes a superhero. The series also boasts an incredible lineup of Marvel veterans and fresh faces, including Bisha K. Ali as head writer and executive producer.
