In a recent conversation with Howard Stern on his radio show, actor John Stamos shared that he was on the phone with his close friend Lori Loughlin when the news of the infamous college admissions scandal first broke. Loughlin, who is Stamos’ former co-star on the TV show “Full House,” was later sentenced to two months in prison for her involvement in the scandal.
Stamos told Stern, “I happen to be on the phone with her when the [scandal] broke, and it’s like, ‘Oh my G-d.’ It was just crazy.” He expressed concern and shock at his friend’s involvement. He mentioned how he cares about her deeply, given their close friendship and years of working together on the “Full House” set.
Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, were both formally charged in the scandal, which involved them paying $500,000 to have their daughters admitted to the University of Southern California under false pretenses. After both have served their respective prison sentences, Giannulli recently completed his five-month sentence, and Loughlin was released back in December 2020.
