– Kevin Spacey declared not guilty in UK court
– Judge rules insufficient evidence to convict
– Spacey still facing a civil lawsuit in the US
In a UK trial, actor Kevin Spacey has been found not guilty of sexual assault charges. The decision was made in court due to lack of sufficient evidence to prove the allegations against him.
The case revolved around an alleged incident involving Spacey and a young man at a house party in the United Kingdom. The prosecution claimed that Spacey had sexually assaulted the young man after inviting him to the event; however, the judge determined that there was not enough evidence to support these claims, ultimately finding Spacey not guilty.
Despite this outcome, the actor is still facing a civil lawsuit in the United States for another sexual assault allegation. The accuser in the US case, a then-18-year-old busboy in Nantucket, Massachusetts, has claimed that Spacey groped him in a bar back in 2016. This lawsuit is still pending, as the criminal charges against Spacey have already been dropped due to the alleged victim’s refusal to testify about missing cellphone evidence.
Throughout the trial, Spacey has maintained his innocence, stating in an interview, “I feel as if my life has stopped and I feel judged. But I have faith that the system will reveal the truth.” As of now, the actor has not made any further statements regarding the verdict in the UK trial.
