Téa Leoni and Tim Daly have married after years of dating, bringing their on-screen chemistry from “Madam Secretary” into real life.
The couple, who played Secretary of State Elizabeth McCord and her husband Henry on the CBS drama, confirmed their marriage through representatives. The wedding took place in a private ceremony.
Leoni, 58, and Daly, 68, began dating in 2014 during the show’s first season.
Their relationship developed while filming the political drama, which ran for six seasons from 2014 to 2019. The show featured Leoni as a former CIA analyst turned Secretary of State, with Daly playing her supportive academic husband.
“We fell in love on set, and it’s been wonderful ever since,”
Daly said in a previous interview about their relationship.
The actors kept their romance relatively private throughout the show’s run. They occasionally appeared together at industry events and award shows.
Leoni was previously married to actor David Duchovny from 1997 to 2014. They have two children together.
Daly was married to actress Amy Van Nostrand until her death from cancer in 2010. He has two children from that marriage.
The couple’s wedding marks a new chapter for both actors. Leoni recently completed work on the Netflix series “Bad Monkey,” while Daly continues his voice work as Superman on various animated projects.
Their “Madam Secretary” co-stars have expressed excitement about the marriage on social media. The show’s creator Barbara Hall called them “perfect for each other” in a recent statement.
