Marvel VFX employees unanimously decide to form a union Release Date

– Marvel visual effects workers vote for unionization
– Motion Picture Editors Guild will represent the workers
– Union demands include better compensation and benefits

Visual effects (VFX) professionals working for Marvel Studios have collectively decided to unionize, following a unanimous vote. This decision will lead these skilled VFX workers to join forces with the Motion Picture Editors Guild, Local 700 of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE).

The main motivation behind the unionization is the pursuit of improved working conditions, fair wages, and benefits for the VFX team who have worked on popular Marvel projects such as “WandaVision” and “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.” The VFX workers also believe that a more organized workforce will allow them to negotiate better deals and have increased job security.

In the wake of the vote, the Motion Picture Editors Guild and IATSE will reportedly push for better compensation, perks, and overall working conditions for the Marvel VFX creators, who play a crucial role in shaping the epic visual style of the globally successful Marvel film and streaming projects.
