Only Murders in the Building Season 5 Premiere Date & Cast Returns After 3-Year Break Release Date

Hulu announced the premiere date for "Only Murders in the Building" Season 5, confirming the hit comedy-mystery series will return February 25, 2025.

The streaming platform revealed key casting details for the upcoming season. Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez are returning as the podcast-obsessed trio Charles, Oliver, and Mabel.

Eva Longoria joins the cast as a series regular after her guest appearance in Season 4.

The announcement comes three years after the show first premiered in August 2021. Season 4 wrapped up in October 2024, leaving fans waiting for resolution to the latest mystery.

“We’re thrilled to bring back this incredible cast and continue the story that has captivated audiences worldwide,” said a Hulu spokesperson.

Season 5 will pick up where the previous season left off. The trio continues investigating murders in their Upper West Side apartment building while navigating their own complicated relationships.

The show has maintained strong viewership numbers throughout its run. It’s consistently ranked among Hulu’s most-watched original series.

Production wrapped filming in late 2024. The series films primarily in New York City, giving it an authentic Manhattan feel that fans have come to expect.

John Hoffman and Steve Martin continue as co-creators and executive producers. The writing team remains largely unchanged from previous seasons.

The February premiere date puts the show in Hulu’s traditional winter lineup. It’ll compete with other streaming platforms’ major releases during awards season.

Fans can expect the same blend of comedy and mystery that made the series a breakout hit. The show’s unique format combining true crime podcasting with actual detective work has set it apart from other comedy series.

All previous seasons remain available for streaming on Hulu. New subscribers can catch up on the entire series before the Season 5 premiere.
