- Despite the impasse, SAG-AFTRA is open to resuming negotiations.
Negotiations between the Screen Actors GuildāAmerican Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) have come to a halt as studios walk away from the talks. Citing differences that are “too great,” the studios claim no progress can be made under the current circumstances.
SAG-AFTRA had been in negotiations with AMPTP over fair wages, working conditions, and other issues pertaining to the actors and media professionals they represent. Both parties are currently at an impasse and unable to agree on key points of the discussions.
Despite the breakdown in talks, SAG-AFTRA has expressed their willingness to return to the negotiation table in the hopes of reaching a resolution. The union remains optimistic about the possibility of finding common ground with the studios and continuing their efforts to achieve fair treatment for their members.
