Palm Royale fans can start planning their viewing schedules. Apple TV+ confirmed the comedy series will return for a second season, though the streaming service hasn’t announced a specific premiere date yet.
The show stars Kristen Wiig as Maxine Simmons, a woman determined to break into Palm Beach high society in 1969. Season one wrapped up earlier this year with Maxine finally achieving her goal of joining the exclusive Palm Royale country club.
Abe Sylvia returns as showrunner and executive producer for the upcoming season.
Apple TV+ also revealed several other projects in development. Steven Knight, creator of Peaky Blinders, is working on House of Guinness, a drama series about the famous brewing family. The show will explore the dynasty behind the iconic Irish beer brand.
Additional Apple TV+ Projects
The streaming service announced Cape Fear, a psychological thriller series based on the classic film. Nick Antosca and Alex Hedlund will serve as showrunners for the project.
The Big Cigar received a series order as well. The limited series stars Andre Holland and tells the story of Black Panther Party founder Huey P. Newton‘s escape to Cuba in the 1970s.
Don Cheadle will executive produce and appear in the series.
Apple TV+ continues expanding its original programming slate across multiple genres. The company’s investment in premium content has resulted in several Emmy nominations and wins over the past few years.
Palm Royale season one is currently available to stream on Apple TV+. The service typically announces premiere dates for returning shows closer to their actual release windows.
