Actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus recently shared her thoughts on the idea of a “Seinfeld” reunion project and her personal view was quite surprising. In an interview, the Emmy-winning actress acknowledged that while a reunion would be fun, it would not be as good as the original show, which has become a classic.
Louis-Dreyfus, who portrayed Elaine Benes on the beloved sitcom, added that the chances of a reunion project happening were slim. However, she did express that it wasn’t due to a lack of fondness for her fellow cast members – she loved working with them and stated that they “hit the jackpot” with the team they had.
Additionally, in the same interview, the actress spoke about her current show, “Veep”, which she has starred in since 2012. She discussed the creative freedom she has on the show and how it has evolved over the years but has not lost its satirical edge.
Interestingly, when asked if she ever rewatches “Seinfeld” episodes, Louis-Dreyfus admitted that she does not. She explained that she finds it uncomfortable to watch herself, especially in older works, as she is extremely critical of her own performances. Despite that, she remains grateful for her time on the iconic show and for the opportunities it has afforded her in her illustrious career.
