– Netflix cancels “Shadow and Bone” series
– Author Leigh Bardugo expresses heartbreak over cancellation
– Planned spinoff “Six of Crows” also canceled
Leigh Bardugo, the author of the popular young adult fantasy series “Shadow and Bone,” has shared her disappointment and heartbreak following Netflix’s decision to cancel the TV adaptation after just one season. Furthermore, the streaming platform has also decided to axe the planned spinoff series “Six of Crows.”
Bardugo communicated her feelings on social media, saying, “I’m heartbroken that we won’t be able to give fans the last two seasons we had planned. This show was a miracle from the start. Thank you for believing in us, for watching, and loving it.”
Netflix’s “Shadow and Bone” TV series premiered in April 2021 and was based on Bardugo’s Grishaverse novels. It introduced viewers to a dark and magical world filled with complex characters and enchanting storylines. The spinoff series “Six of Crows” was intended to expand this universe even further, but now both projects have come to an unfortunate halt.
