In particular, Shepherd recalled instances in which Geddie would offer reassurance when she doubted herself and was facing challenges stemming from racism. “I would come in his office, close the door and just cry sometimes, and Bill would talk me off the ledge,” Shepherd told Deadline. The actress was especially grateful for the mentorship and encouragement from Geddie in pivotal moments of her career.
