  • The strangling of Bart Simpson by his father will persist in The Simpsons TV show.
  • The show’s co-creator, Al Jean, confirmed that no major changes will be implemented.
  • Jean also mentioned that the decision has the support of the voice actress behind Bart Simpson, Nancy Cartwright.

Al Jean, co-creator of The Simpsons, has revealed that fans of the show need not worry, as Bart Simpson will continue to be strangled by his father, Homer. Jean stated in no uncertain terms that “nothing’s changing” when it comes to this iconic and controversial aspect of the animated series.

Furthermore, the voice actress behind Bart Simpson, Nancy Cartwright, is in agreement with the decision. Despite concerns over how this portrayal of family life might be perceived, the creators of the show are satisfied with keeping the father-son choking for the sake of comedic effect on The Simpsons.
