– ‘The Talk’ postpones season premiere
– Staff staging walkout in response to Activision Blizzard lawsuit
– Internal memo cites ‘necessary time to heal’ as a reason for delay
CBS’s daytime show “The Talk” has unexpectedly postponed its season premiere originally scheduled for September 14 following unrest from the show’s staff over a planned segment that was to address the recent Activision Blizzard lawsuit. The staff members had staged a walkout in protest of CBS executives’ decision to invite three allegedy abusive Activision Blizzard employees to speak on the show.
In an internal memo provided to the staff by CBS, the need for “necessary time to heal” was mentioned as a reason for the delay in the show’s premiere. The memo went on to say, “We recognize this has been a challenging time for our staff and we continue to offer assistance and a support system for our colleagues in need. Thank you for your continued dedication. Together, we will continue to make ‘The Talk’ the best it can be.”
While CBS has not yet announced a new date for the season premiere of “The Talk”, it is anticipated that the network will likely address the situation in a timely manner.
