Apple TV+ cancels “City on Fire” series Release Date

– “City on Fire” series cancelled
– Apple TV+ drops the project
– Novel adaptation deal falls through

“City on Fire”, a series adaptation of the popular novel by Garth Risk Hallberg, is no longer moving forward at Apple TV+. The streaming service had previously given the show an eight-episode order but has now chosen to cancel the project.

The show featured a talented ensemble cast, including Lucy Boynton from “Bohemian Rhapsody” and Taron Egerton from “Rocketman”. While the creators had outlined a potential first season, it seems the deal with Apple TV+ has come to an abrupt end. There is no news yet on the reasons for the cancellation, or if any other streaming platforms might pick up the series.

“City on Fire” was a high-profile project for Apple TV+, originally intended to further diversify their catalog and tap into the audience of the bestselling novel.
