Apple TV+ announced that Slow Horses will return for a seventh season, making the renewal official months before the fifth season even premieres.
The streaming service confirmed the news as part of their ongoing commitment to the critically acclaimed British spy series. Season 5 won’t debut until later this year.
Gary Oldman returns as the disheveled intelligence operative Jackson Lamb in what’s become Apple’s most successful international drama series.
The show’s based on Mick Herron’s Slough House novel series. Each season typically adapts one book from the collection.
Season 6 wrapped filming earlier this year and is expected to air in 2025. The seventh season renewal means the series will continue well into 2026.
“We’re thrilled to continue Jackson Lamb’s story,”
said an Apple TV+ representative in a statement.
The series follows a group of MI5 agents who’ve been relegated to Slough House after career-damaging mistakes. It’s essentially where British intelligence sends agents they can’t fire but don’t want around.
Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, and Saskia Reeves anchor the supporting cast alongside Oldman.
Apple hasn’t revealed specific plot details for the upcoming seasons. The show’s maintained strong viewership numbers internationally since its 2022 debut.
Production on Season 7 is expected to begin next year, continuing the series’ track record of consistent annual releases.
